Carson Keeler

Masters of Social Work, Registered Social Worker
Accepting New Clients
Virtual & In-Person
Carson is a person-centered therapist who accepts you exactly how you decide to show up. He is dedicated to providing you with a non-judgmental space, celebrates the courage it takes to focus on you and to approach an ally. A few laughs together also never hurts!

As a social worker he believes in comprehensive and holistic approaches to health considering not only the mind but factors that may be impacting a person’s life and psychological distress. This means that we will look for understanding together, identify patterns that used to serve a purpose but no longer do, and develop techniques together that are meaningful and grounded in evidence.
Sometimes the challenges of life become larger than our toolbox and we have to either set time aside to grow the toolbox or shrink the challenges.
Staying true to this perspective and difficulties of making time in this busy life, Carson offers daytime, evening and weekend availability to work alongside you and life's demands.

Carson completed both a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Social Work (MSW). This advanced degree provides additional training specific to counselling and clinical practice and considers environmental, systems or social circumstances in treatment planning.

What is the difference between someone with a Bachelors of Social Work, Masters of Social Work and a Registered Social Worker?

A Bachelor of Social Work is a 4-year undergraduate University degree that allows an individual to register with the Alberta College of Social Worker and become a Registered Social Worker (RSW). However, additional training is needed depending on the complexity of support offered.
An individual with a Masters of Social Work already possesses a Bachelor of Social Work and is already registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers, but they also completed additional training in diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, and bring a wealth of social, family and environmental knowledge into clinical practice.

Please note that many individuals with a Bachelor of Social Work who offer counselling services also have additional designations such as a Masters of Counselling Psychology or obtained extensive training/supervision to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

Clover Care Health ensures that all clinicians providing services are trained and licensed to provide the treatments that they offer.

Does Carson work with Veterans and First Responders

Yes. Carson supports veterans and first responders.
He is trained in treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He is also able to provide therapeutic support to individuals under PCVRS.
Many veterans struggle with the transition to civilian life. The balance between a person-centered approach to therapy and evidence based interventions for trauma, anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation (like anger) make treatment in therapy more personal/individual to you.

You are welcome to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation with Carson to determine if he is able to support you or if he has the right personality fit for you.
